Harri Santamala supports WPS’s next phase of international growth
Weasel Port Solutions is preparing for its next phase of international growth, with Harri Santamala helping the team connect with potential investors and develop its growth plans. Building on the business’s organic development, the ambition is to bring its port operating platform to a wider international market.

For Santamala, the interest begins with a practical challenge: coordinating the many moving parts of a ferry departure. Passengers, vehicles and cargo need to come together in the right order, while different teams work towards the same departure time.
He compares the challenge to a familiar game from his childhood.
“I spent a lot of time playing Tetris on a Game Boy. There is something familiar about the challenge in a ferry port: getting the right pieces into the right places at the right time. What interests me about WPS is how that coordination connects directly to operational performance and business value.”
Software with a practical purpose
WPS supports the management of passenger, vehicle and cargo flows, bringing operational information and control into a shared platform. The aim is to help port teams coordinate their work and respond to changes, rather than simply observe them.
Time is an important part of that value. Avoiding delays in port can reduce the pressure to recover lost time through higher sailing speeds. Depending on the route and operating conditions, this can create opportunities to reduce fuel consumption, emissions and costs.
Connecting international ambitions with the right investors
WPS has developed through organic growth. Santamala now works with the leadership team to prepare for a more ambitious international phase, helping identify relevant investors, open conversations through his network and build relationships around a shared understanding of the opportunity.
A key part of his role is helping potential investors understand both the practical value of WPS and its potential to scale: the operational problems it addresses, the market it serves and how the platform can grow beyond its established customer base.
This work connects investor discussions with WPS’s wider international growth plans. Alongside the team’s efforts to build lasting customer and partner relationships, Santamala helps bring the company’s next chapter into focus for potential investors
